Default ABC & Sky discussion

I am hesitate to create this thread incase any of this comes across as being rude but I thought I would just present the idea, though I apologise if this is seen as out of order in any way

Since the forum split, many Sky Pace members discuss Lost in the ABC Pace forum, which limits activity in the Sky forum. [*I am posting exclusively in the Sky forum, otherwise I only have Friday-Tuesday without being spoiled*].

The Sky forum sometimes has very few threads, and threads are often quite empty as many have already discussed topics in the ABC forum, which is a shame for members exclusively sticking to the Sky forum - which actually may only turn out to be me and as such, all of this will sound very selfish].

In theory, it would be brilliant if Sky members discussed the recent episode in the Sky forum because as things are currently, I feel exclusive Sky forum posters, sometimes miss out on lots of discussion for each episode.

Again, sorry if any of this is rude and everyone of course has the right to discuss anywhere they please, but I had thought about bringing this issue up last Season and finally decided to do so now. Of course, I realise this simply boils down to my excluding the ABC forum, though I feel this is the only way I can discuss each episode for as long as possible each week.

Does anyone else at Sky Pace avoid the ABC forum as I do, and I just wanted to see everyone else's opinion on the matter.

To be honest, it is not exactly the end of the world but I just thought if this thread convinces Sky viewers to use the Sky forum after Fridays, then that would be great. But if not, then that is absolutely fine too.

I went to the dark-side! ()

I didn't want to miss out on ideas from the ABC discussions, so between Friday and Tuesday, I switch to ABC Pace and browse the US pace forums to see and read other ideas - I just prefer to hear more, and as you say Reed, there is more discussion there so there is more to read, more ideas to think about.

If I'm honest, I don't want to miss this, and I don't mind having to change my membership groups regularly.

But so you know - any threads that I personally create, I will always be putting them into the Sky1 Pace forum!

This would be my best bet, but after Tuesdays I cannot continue using ABC threads I have posted in, and so I feel more comfortable sticking to the Sky forum because I have all week to read and reply. The downside of course, is there are sometimes fewer people in the Sky forum so both options have advantages and disadvantages.

Exactly - so while you/we would have more time to discuss stuff in the Sky1 pace there would be fewer people to discuss it with, hence less discussion (the whole point of this is to get more discussion!) because everyone will be over in the ABC Pace section.

If interest rises in the Sky1 forum, I may stop going into the ABC pace section, but it's unlikely as there is more going on (even little things like the 'Character of the Week' poll that's only in the US Pace Section) in the ABC pace.

Perhaps if there was a possibility of merging the forums for each individual episode after it has aired in the UK?

I am by no means demanding anything - just wondering if this was a possibility? I don't really get how the forum system works...

Good point Gaz, but I prefer the 1 week discussion time rather than Friday-Tuesday.

I thought about this but then the ABC viewers have no threads to discuss new issues in old threads without spoiling UK members - if that makes sense.

I don't look at the ABC threads until Friday evening. I then respond to any posts on the ABC threads that take my fancy; but tend to start new threads on the Sky Board.

That seems the fairest way of dealing with the time difference and also stops me being spoiled.

I like to respond to as many interesting posts as possible; so will look at both sections after Friday evenings.

Cheers, MA

That seems a good way of going about it M.A. I will definitely be staying in the Sky forum for the time being because I love having a full week to discuss threads.

The Sky section seems quite busy for LA X, but I remember last Season when the Sky section had literally no threads or only a handful, which was frustrating.

It does - and that's a very good point.

I suppose the 'new ideas' could just merit a new thread though - if they were really worth mentioning...

I understand your frustration with this Reed, but in all honesty if nobody else posted in the ABC section it would just be bolts, Fringie and myself posting in there and as much as I love their posts, I also like everyone elses posts.

I try to make it a point to create threads in the UK section if none are being created, but there seem to be lots of conversations going on there this time.

That said, it would be nice if we could somehow merge them together after each episode, but then you run the risk of an ABC viewer updating an old post with an episode they have just seen, but a UK'er has not.

Being a spoiler free site has its perks and downfalls I guess.

I dont actually check the ABC threads at all, i watch it on Sky and only follow the Sky pace, otherwise knowing me i will forget to change it back or something!!

I am finding it really hard to find the time to post at the moment, but i will make more of an effort to be involved in the sky threads!

I'm like Miss Austen, I read the Sky forum after I have seen the episode and if I post any new threads on this forum. I also look at the ABC forum as those who post regularly there often have some different threads that haven't been discussed on the Sky forum, and I will contribute to these.

I do try and avoid logging on the site from a Tuesday to Friday as to avoid accidently coming across any spoilers that may be highlighted on the ABC site. I have tried to minimise the site on these days but it always seems to come back when I log on again.

Unless the threads are merged after the Friday episode I think that this is the best way of doing it.

The character of the week poll is suffering because of it as well because I run it at ABC pace. I suppose I could run it at Sky1 pace also, but then you may have people voting twice and the polls would not be fair.

That said, if you do toggle over to ABC pace between episodes, please check out the character of the week poll and vote.

Why dont you just do it at Sky pace Kates then everyone will see it anyway, because most ABC pace viewers will all view Sky pace as well, so overall there are more people that look at all the Sky threads, whereas there are less Sky viewers that look at ABC! If that makes sense!!
