Now having to wait until January for S6 and until probably October/November for S5 release on DVD, like many I will be re watching S1-4. (already started S1 again)
With surprises, twists and turns, I thought opening a thread would be a good idea for people who are rewatching to link any theories or ideas they have or things they have noticed, to where we are now and what has happened in S5. It can also be a point for observed continuity errors (or not) that could be open to debate. There may old theories that arise that are relevant too. Two points to open from me: 1. When Locke saw smokey for the first time was this the point he was (at least partially) taken over by mystery man, or at least gave him knowledge of the island. 2. When Charlie was on the plane when it was about to crash he came out of the toilet and plugged himself in the third seat back. He returned to the cockpit to retrive his drugs so in reality he should have been a body in the front part of the plane. Mistake by the writers? Or was Charlie 'reborn' right from the start. I have thoughts that Charlie may well figure prominently in S6 (I have mentioned this in the ABC thread). Happy re watching. |

Haven't started a re-watch yet (I need to buy season 1 and 2!), but just wanted to say this is a great thread.
This should give a lot of members something to talk about in the long wait for the final season and I will do my best to contribute when I start the re-watch. Also, nice idea about Locke and Smokey. Reading other threads I was reminded of Locke describing his sighting of the monster as a 'white light'. I would need to re-watch this but hearing of this has really got me interested. Either it is a vital continuity error or it is vitally important!

In Walkabout, when Locke saw the monster, he said to Jack it was the most beautiful thing he had seen. Immediately after this Locke was wearing a very white T.Shirt, supporting the dark and light theory. In White Rabbit there were several references. Firstly, Locke volunteered to go into the jungle to look for fresh water and stated to Kate and Sayid 'I know where I'm looking now'. How did he know when he had only been on the island 6 days. The statement Locke made was very definite. Jack feel down the cliff face after tripping when chasing Christian. Who came to his aid? Locke. How did Locke know where Jack was to save him, and he conveniently arrived just in time. In a subsequent conversation between Locke and Jack, Locke first spoke about destiny to Jack and kept asking him what if the impossible was possible (reference to Jack saying Christian being there was impossible), he then left Jack to reflect which was when Jack found the water. Locke must have known Jack would find the water. My thoughts on this now have seen S5 is that Locke was, at in least part, engulfed by Jacob giving him knowledge of the island (he later said he no longer needed his compass in S1, and I'll refer to this when I have rewatched the episode) and perhaps why he heard Jacob in later Seasons. Christian could also have been Jacobised, hence WHITE trainers when Jack saw him. He also said he could speak on behalf of Jacob. Now Jacob is dead Christian could have a very important part to play in S6 or be dead himself too. |

Charlie shot Ethan 6 times but when Hurley was talking to Sayid about PTSD he said 4 times
![]() At least that's me recollection. I counted 6 shots and Hurley deffo said 4 but I may re-watch it again to make sure. Edit: Re-watched, blooper alert >.< I was right, shot 6 times, Hurley said 4. Also, anyone else noticed that the 'Previously on LOST' clips aren't always exactly as they were originally?? They tend to often use another take or something rather than a clip from the actual episode it came from, they sometimes say things slightly differently. There's quite a few, I read about it on lostpedia and realised they were right, there's been a few times when I've just had a feeling it was slightly different but sometimes they say totally different things. They sometimes put emphasis on different words or something like that. Minor, but noticeable if you pay attention.
One of the most obvious ones that I read about was in S4 (not relevant to the re-watch but just as an example) when Jack, Kate, Sun, Sayid and Ben were at the docks; when that scene was in the recap bit, Kate said something different to what she said in the actual episode, they clearly used a different take of that scene for the recapnthan what they used in the episode. Another one is when Eloise said 'Then God help us all' the first time, when that was in a recap, it was nothing like the episode, she said it totally differently. There's also been times when there's something in the recaps and I swear I'd never seen that bit in the episode but that may just be me

I've started my rewatch! I watched The Pilot Part 1 last night and here's a few of the things I was thinking about when watching:
And my favourite funny moment from the episode: HURLEY: So, I was just looking inside the fuselage … It's pretty grim in there. You think we should do something about the, uh … [stopping and looking at Walt] b-o-d-y-s? MICHAEL: What are you spelling, man? "Bodies"? WALT: B-o-d-i-e-s. That is all

In 2.01 when Desmond says 'Lower your gun, or I'll blow his damn head off, brother!', but in the recap of 2.02, he just says 'Lower your gun, or I'll blow his damn head off'
Gotta watch out for these things

Okay, I am now up to S1 Ep 14 and am now thinking if a rewatch is such a good idea as I am becoming quite critical which I don't want to be.
I can no longer watch Locke without thinking he was been smokified in some way or other, his whole demeanour is one of being at home on the island. The first time of watching this I felt that he just belonged, but now knowing what I know I am sure that S6 will tell us Locke hasn't been 'Locke' since he looked into the eye of the island. My moan is regarding homecoming and the death of Ethan (yes he was shot six times, how could I not count ) Now we know the others and what they are about, there is no way Ethan would be getting Claire without back up, so I was left disappointed just how easily the losties 'caught' Ethan, I mean Ben always has a plan so he would have made sure he got Claire back......unless he deliberatley sacrificed Ethan (like Goodwin) for a reason we don't know yet, such as Ethan being born a Dharmarite.Am I looking to much into this? |

I think you make a good point about that, now you mention it, it does seem like he was sent there and it was intended that he'd never come back... just like Goodwin as you said, yeah. Good spot.
