Yeah, was good! I like the text appearances. Just hope it doesn't get old fast.
Robert Downy Jr... its a different story. Love them both, but i liked the old tv series as well.

I really enjoyed it! I hope they end up making more than three episodes. I'm a big Holmes fan, and I think Moffat did a good job staying faithful to the story as much as he could after modernizing it. Seeing a different use of RACHE from A Study in Scarlet was pretty funny. I agree with Toby about the text; that was pretty nifty.
Now, do I like this better than the Downey Jr./Jude Law version? I'm not sure yet.

It was REALLY good. 9/10!
My only complaint was that Watson's character seemed a little too wooden and stuffy (mostly at the start) and his dialogue was un-necessarily stilted. He was better at the end though! I really enjoyed this, it was an awesome re-imagining - I just hope they don't make Moriarty a woman.

Some of the minor characters were crap actors. It really annoyed me.

Any in particular?
I think that police woman with the black frizzy hair was trying too hard to show under-lying feelings of resentment, but the rest were fine. His "brother" wasn't fantastic IMO.

erm the ones at the beginning...don't know who they were as they weren't proper characters. I liked his brother!
the woman in the cab who worked for her brother wasn't a very good actor.

Second episode was much better! Got rid of all the annoying niggles from the first episode, though there didn't feel like there was much of a baddie this time around.
Does anyone know how long this is running for?

I loved it and the bloke playing Holmes brother (Mark Gatiss) helped write and adapt this modern retelling.
He starred in Starter For Ten with James McAvoy - brilliant film - catch it some time. Cheers, MA

Only watched the first episode so far, but I have to say it's looking very good. Love the way they've re-imagined Holmes and Watson - and it's about time we got a Watson that wasn't a fat, blundering idiot. Joy!

In my absence I've been dying to discuss this!
It is brilliant. I think I preferred the first episode to the second, but it was a very intriguing end to the most recent episode. can't wait for Sunday night. I hope it returns as a more substantial series.
