Hurley saying he was the luckiest man alive shows that the Losties have been affected (albeit subconsciously) by past events. Jacob told Hurley in the taxi that perhaps he should look on his bad luck as blessings instead of bad luck. It seems to have worked because Hurley is far more optimistic and at peace with himself.
I'm not sure I can consider Jacob a bad character rather than a good one on that count alone. Even Jack didn't try so hard to 'fix' Sayid. Compare his attempts to save Sayid with his attempts to fix Charlie after Ethan strung him up. He was calmer and more business like but still professional. He listened to Kate and just didn't ignore her like before. It shows our characters are capable of growth and that they have been influenced by their previous lives or alternate timelines. Cheers, MA

Welcome back Miss A!
Agreed on this. Jack seemed to be a calmer, more easy going person both on and off island. He was also very easily persuaded to allow Hurley to help Sayid. Quite a different side of him. Also during his airport scene with Locke, he handed out hope by giving Locke his business card and a free consult. Jack has never been one to hand out hope before. I have to wonder what numbers Hurley used to play the lottery this time around. |

Perhaps the way in which the losties have grown on the island since the plane crashed had an effect on how they acted in the parallel universe of if the hydrogen bomb worked. Jack learnt to become more of a man of faith. Locke was set on the fact that his condition was irreversible, and even Jin was less harsh win Sun. I mean although he did tell her to button her shirt up, he was less of the aggressive Jin that we first met back in the day.
Was anybody else slightly disturbed to see Jack and Locke getting along?
