Was Jacob giving Jack an Apollo Bar significant?
Apollo The Sun God was a mortal medical healer who was so successful that he was reputed to have the ability to bring the dead back to life! Don't forget that Jack did this with Charlie - believe me, Charlie was a goner - even Kate told Jack to give up but he wouldn't. Apollo, god of the Sun Jacob was also a healer. Is this why Locke could walk again on the island and why Rose's cancer was cured? Cheers, MA

Not to put you down, but I think it's just the reoccuring candy bar that they have used over the course the series because they can't use real brands so they make up their own. I do like to think, however, that the bar holds significance because of which pairs have it. Like there was a scene with hurley and ben and their interactions have always held significance, and now jack and jacob...I dunno maybe it's a dry connection but it could be something

I had thought that it was just simply a link to the Hatch bars, but I always wanted it to mean something more!
I've always believed (or at least wanted to) that everything we see in Lost is important and relevant - and I really like the healer theory MA. Even if it doesn't really reveal something in the show it at least is a better reason and nicer/relevant link than the recurring chocolate bar idea.

I doubt this has any significance except another reoccurance - which as a whole are actually significant in regard to our Survivors' path/link to the Island.
"It just needed a little push" - where was Jacob when my candy was stuck in a vending machine.

Everyone seemed to notice that Jacob touched each of the people he visited - but it was only through my re-watch realised the significance of it! at least that it was significant somehow...
Some of the contacts were blatantly obvious, like putting his hands on the arms of Sun and Jin for example. But others were more subtle, like giving Sawyer a pen and and jack the bar! But what I noticed is how the camera/sequence seemed to slow down - the creators wanted to make it blatantly obvious that Jacob did touch each person he visited. So in the case of the Apollo bar, I think the most important thing, or most significant thing to take from Jacob giving Jack the Apollo bar was the physical touch, as opposed to the chocolate bar - which IMO was just some way of getting Jacob to subtly touch Jack - giggity!

I noticed that Jack was weary of Jacob and dare I say a little freaked out by him. Afterall, who touches someone's hand when handing over items?

I re-watched The Incident and I only just noticed this line...
So I think if there is anything to take from this scene, it's the physical touch, and this line which seems quite significant IMO! Exactly what it means, I'm not sure - but it certainly seems that Jacob was giving the Losties a "little push" to the island... Or not! I'm kidding though - it's important!

That's a nice idea - but I'm personally thinking that Christian is linked with Esau, as opposed to Jacob.
So would Esau actually have given Jack the push? I only say Christian is linked with Esau, because he was in the cabin (which I firmly believe Esau took over) and he seemed to be linked with Smokey (who I strongly feel is connected with Esau for reasons I've explained elsewhere (think when Ben confronted the monster to be judged!)), and he helped/encouraged Locke to move the island, setting the chain of events that lead to Esau's return (taking Locke's form) into motion.

I do think that Esau had/has an interest in the O6 because every pawn in this game has helped Esau find his loophole. So it is possible that Esau needed to give the Survivors a push also. Regarding Jacob, I feel the push was a general push and not specifically related to the operation Jack was about to complete, but that is not to say Jacob did not install in Jack the ability to complete it. Much like Jacob's touch brought Locke back to life, I feel his touch to Jack made Jack better at being a Doctor.
