Who is chasing Sawyer and gang?

When Sawyer and co walked onto the beach and found the camp destroyed and everyone missing I was confused by what could have happened.
Then they found the Aijira bottled water inside one of the boats that somehow appeared on the beach and I was even more confused. At first I thought it might be the 06 and that the island had flashed into the future, but then they started being shot at by a group of unknowns in another boat and once again, I was confused.

Who are these people chasing Sawyer and gang? Is it someone from the Aijira airlines? Did someone hijack one of their planes to get to the island?
Or could it be the 06 and they dont realize who they are chasing? And what in the world happened to the beach camp and other Losties?

As crazy as it sounds I like to think it is the 06 and that the beach camp was already destroyed when they arrived as well. Perhaps the writers just want us to think whoever left the boats there also destroyed the camp. Although it would be cool if it were the 06, I imagine it is impossible because the island is still flashing through time. Oh well, its probably just the others again. Or is that what they want us to think?

Maybe they went to the future and found their camp savaged by some other
survivors who built those canoes. I don't know. Or maybe they were in the past, but
that doesn't explain the beach camp...
I like the idea that the shooters were actually O6 who got back to the Island but
have no need for the camp so they deserted it. But than again, canoes...
It has to be Others! Every time we see some mystery thingy involving humans, eventually it turns out to be Others' mess!

It could be absolutely anyone - even their future selves

Maybe somehting has happened to the future them and they have become so desperate that they want to kill themselves but can't (like Michael couldn't) have figured the only way to do it is to kill themselves in the past. they could have got the water bottle from anywhere/one

At first I thought it was the others because of those canoes...they resemble the one that Kate, Sawyer, and Karl take back to the losties' island right after Juliet shoots that guy (i forgot his name).

I definetly think that they were in the future though, so maybe it was themselves...who really knows.

I like your theory! Than that means the Island wouldn't let them kill
them selves! But it would also mean like they planned it all the way - they
waited for past selves to time travel to exact moment and find canoes,
and they ran out of the bush and start following them. But on another
hand not! If that happened in the past, than future selves would
know exactly what will happen and how... I just... This time travel
thing...

Like some of you, I also think it could be the O6ers, or even their future selves.

Another possibility (among MANY possibilities) is that it could be Widmore's people. We can assume that there are currently more than one group of people attempting to get back to the island - the O6ers (well, half of them at this moment in time) led by Ben, and one has to also think that Widmore is also trying to locate the island.

So perhaps both groups somehow get 'back' to the island (via Ajira?), although it seems odd that the beachcamp was smashed up. What purpose would that serve, unless a group of bandits had just chased another group in-land, leaving their boat(s) unattended.

I think its strange that Vincents Lead and collar had been left too - esp seeing as i don't think he hasn't worn a lead since Shannon died - I did wonder if the implications were that whoever smashed the camp up (dare I say it) ate Vincent

Well it looked more like a hanging rope to me at first. When I saw it in
Locke's hands I thought that survivors were savagely attacked and
those who survived were hanged! Poor Rose and Bernard where are
they!!!

Isn't that a bit barbaric for prime time television? I don't think the writers would do that...especially because they would get a lot of lip from the animal lovers. I think Vincent is important and I want another mobisode or episode about him!

I really dont see why it'd be the O6ers I mean surely they'd know who they were chasing and I still don't understand why they'd be shooting at the losties?
